The Dennison’s recently returned home to Kentucky with the title of National Champions the brothers won first place in the 2023-24 Division I National Crappie League National Championship held at West Monroe, Louisiana.
The Dennison boys are full time farmers at their family-owned business, Dennison Farms LLC and Dennison’s Roadside Market, alongside their parents located in Horse cave, Kentucky. They specialize in growing homegrown produce, selling KY proud products, and farm over 600 acres of ground that is cultivated for Burley tobacco and pastures beef cattle.
Matt and his wife, Candace, have 3 beautiful girls, Tymber, Ashtyn and Oaklyn (twins), that keep them on their toes. While Brian and his wife, Sarah have 3 handsome boys, Garrett, Drake, and Cade. When they are not fishing you can catch them on the farm or at a sporting event of choice depending on the season.
These boys started competing in local crappie tournaments in 2022, fishing their local club tallying up over 15 first place finishes in just 2 years. In February of 2023 Matt and Brian fished their first ever National tournament on the Alabama River and managed a 9th place finish that advanced them to the National Crappie League National Championship that was just attained. They participate in the Kentucky Crappie Trail that includes 3 divisions that span across 4 lakes within Kentucky. Nolin River Lake/Rough River Lake division, Green River Lake division, and the Barren River Lake division. Dennison brothers have won multiple events on each of these lakes including taking home angler of the year on Barren for the 22-23 season. The brothers are currently on track to win multiple anger of the year titles in the local KCT. Their most recent accomplishment was first place with Crappie USA held on Green River Lake. The Dennison’s are excited about what the future may hold for them, and plan to continue fishing the local KCT events as well as some National tournaments when time allows.
